Benjamin Wuest
Benjamin Wuest’s artworks are fueled by chaos theory and the butterfly effect, which are concepts that state that one small action can effect everything else.
The piece above, Zhungzhi’s Dream, features a screen print of the cyan colour extracted and appropriated from Damien Hirst’s Duomo, a print featuring a cathedral window constructed out of butterfly wings. This was done to illustrate the “chaotic” nature of how artists influence one another. One work impacts the next; a pattern that has been seen throughout art history. No artist works in a void, and through this work Wuest demonstrates our interconnectedness.
